As you move forward in this part of your life, what bold choices or shifts have you made that feel true to who you are now? How has your vision for yourself evolved?

In my 50s, I transformed my life by pivoting careers and aligning my values with my purpose. Now, I strive to help others uncover their true beliefs and encourage them to take chances. I firmly believe that we can all overcome challenges and emerge as better versions of ourselves by shedding outdated, limiting beliefs. This journey is true for me as well; believing in myself has helped me evolve and boosted my confidence in all areas of my life.

What are some of the biggest myths or stereotypes about women over 40 that you feel are outdated, and how are you personally redefining this stage of life?

One of the biggest myths about women over 40 is that our best years are behind us, or that we're less open to change and adventure. Another outdated stereotype is that career growth and personal development slow down or that we’re less in tune with modern trends and technologies.

Personally, I’m redefining this stage of life by embracing new career opportunities and aligning my professional path with my core values and purpose. I’ve pivoted my career in my 50s, proving that growth and change are always possible. Additionally, I challenge limiting beliefs by actively participating in activities that boost my confidence and keep me engaged with the world around me.

Staying in shape and engaging in physical work is an integral part of this lifestyle. Regular exercise not only boosts my physical health but also enhances my mental well-being and energy levels. Whether it's a morning jog, yoga session, or strength training, I find that staying active helps me maintain a balanced life and prepares me for new adventures. Staying fit also empowers me to take on physical challenges that I might not have considered in the past, proving that age is just a number.

I also focus on mentoring and sharing experiences with others, encouraging women to seize every chance for development, embracing personal growth, and knowing that they can thrive at any age. Empowering others and witnessing their growth fuels my own journey and reinforces the belief that life after 40 plus is vibrant, dynamic, and filled with possibilities.

Midlife can be an incredible time for rebirth and refocusing. How has your perspective on ambition and success changed, and what are you most excited to create or achieve now?

Midlife truly offers an opportunity for rebirth and refocusing. My perspective on ambition and success has evolved to prioritize personal fulfillment and staying aligned with my values over traditional metrics like status or financial gain. I've come to realize that success is not just about what we achieve externally but also about inner growth, happiness, and the impact we make on others' lives.

Right now, I'm most excited about creating programs and opportunities that empower others to uncover and pursue their own passions. I'm driven to inspire people to break free from limiting beliefs and embrace change and self-discovery. Personally, I’m also looking forward to exploring new interests and continuing to push my creative boundaries, proving that passion and growth are timeless pursuits.

In this phase of [perimenopause, menopause, or post menopause], many women find a powerful clarity. How has this clarity guided you to prioritize what truly matters in your career, relationships, or personal life?

Experiencing menopause has indeed brought about a powerful clarity that has guided me in prioritizing what truly matters across all facets of my life. In my career, this clarity has led me to focus on meaningful work that aligns with my passion and values, rather than getting caught up in positions or tasks that don't bring me satisfaction. I've learned to set clear boundaries, allowing me to better manage my energy and dedicate time to projects that inspire me.

In relationships, I've become more intentional about nurturing connections that bring mutual joy and support. I've also learned the importance of letting go of draining or unfulfilling interactions. This clarity has deepened my appreciation for the people who matter most to me.

On the personal front, it's been about self-care and embracing activities that enrich my life. I've learned to prioritize my well-being, exploring new hobbies, and embracing moments of mindfulness. This phase has been transformative, empowering me to focus on what truly resonates with my entire being.

What practices, perspectives, or boundaries have you embraced to protect and fuel your energy as you pursue new goals? How do you keep yourself feeling empowered and unstoppable?

To protect and fuel my energy while pursuing new goals, I've adopted several key practices and perspectives. One important practice is establishing a morning routine that includes meditation and light exercise. This helps ground me and set a positive tone for the day.

I’ve also embraced the perspective that progress is more important than perfection. This shift in mindset allows me to rejoice in small accomplishments and maintain momentum without being paralyzed by the fear of failure.

Setting clear boundaries has been crucial. I prioritize my time by saying no to activities or obligations that don’t align with my goals or drain my energy. This has helped me create space for the things that truly matter.

To keep feeling empowered and unstoppable, I regularly reflect on my achievements, which reinforces my confidence and motivation. I surround myself with supportive people who uplift and encourage me. Engaging in continual learning and staying curious also fuels my passion and drives me to push beyond my limits.

Together, these practices, perspectives, and boundaries create a sustainable environment that nourishes my energy and empowers me to chase my dreams relentlessly.

At this point in your life, what does resilience mean to you? Can you share a recent example where you've pushed beyond limits or reinvented your approach to a challenge?

At this point in my life, resilience means the ability to adapt, recover, and grow stronger in the face of adversity. It's about embracing challenges as opportunities for growth rather than setbacks. Resilience is not just about bouncing back—it's about evolving and emerging better equipped to handle whatever comes my way.

Recently, I encountered a challenging situation with a close friend. We had a disagreement that, at first, felt insurmountable. It was emotionally draining, and we both needed space to process our feelings. Instead of letting pride take over or allowing the distance to widen, I chose to confront the situation with openness and vulnerability.

I reached out to my friend and suggested we have a heart-to-heart discussion. We listened to each other’s perspectives with empathy, aiming to understand rather than just respond. This approach required me to push past my comfort zone and be honest about my feelings and intentions, which was challenging but necessary.

Ultimately, this experience deepened our bond. By addressing the issue head-on and prioritizing our friendship, we demonstrated resilience. It's the ability to communicate honestly, forgive, and move forward with a renewed appreciation for each other's roles in our lives that truly represents resilience in a friendship for me.
